Risk Reduction

We take Health & Safety seriously and have a committed, proactive approach to risk reduction in every project. One of our fundamental values is to only ever use qualified and experienced staff.  We have an extensive in-house training process which includes accredited training in all the key Health & Safety qualification required by the industry today, such as Confined Space, Height Safety, Hazard Identification, Permit Receivers, First Aid/CPR, Forklift and Site Safe.

CMS only uses appropriate, high quality equipment and our workshop and mobile on-site units feature some of the latest manufacturing equipment.

We have also been presented a number of Health & Safety awards from the companies with whom we work, including the 2011 Orica Construction Safety Award (32,500 hours with ZERO LTI’s), Mighty River Power Contractor of the Shut Award and a Hawkins Construction Safety Award.

Project Management

The CMS team include a number of experienced Project Supervisors, whose role it is to ensure the swift, smooth and safe completion of your project. From the very outset of your project with us, you will have contact with your dedicated Project Supervisor. He will be your ‘go to guy’, someone chiefly accountable and available to you at all times.

Project Supervisors undertake all or some of the following:

• Create Project Timeline or work with your Project Manager’s plan
• Source & Order Materials
• Pick the best mix of staff for the project, based on qualifications and experience
• Create Inspection Test Plans and all Site Permits
• Run Toolbox meetings or be an active participant in project meetings
• Ensure all aspects of project are proceeding to plan
• Be one central source of communication
• Fully manage our rigorous QA process

Project Supervisors are responsible for all necessary certificates and documentation. (This includes a complete QA Package, with drawings, material test certificates, inspection reports and all other aspects externally verified by an independent third party.)

Each of our Project Supervisors is also himself a qualified engineer with decades of workshop and site experience. This means that whilst they oversee project operations and manage documentation, they can also ‘get their hands dirty’ as a hands-on resource for your project.
