“Contract Mechanical provided specialist ASME IX Pressure Welding labour for the 2011 Annual Shutdown at Visy Pulp & Paper at Tumut, NSW. Due to a sudden scope increase the labour was required at short notice, however Contract Mechanical were able to respond to this demand and still provide a crew of very high standard.

Over the course of the 10 days that the crew was on site, they were assigned a very diverse range of jobs throughout the mill, and quickly became one of the sought after resources within the larger Boilers Shutdown Labour on site. Many of the more difficult welding jobs were left for this crew.

The staff involved were extremely capable and possessed initiative to directly uplift permits and liaise with production staff to complete their tasks, making the management role effortless.

All tasks assigned to them were completed ahead of time and to a very high standard, so much so that some of the Head Contractors pressure welding apprentices were rapidly reassigned to TA roles alongside to observe and learn, such was the calibre of the crew sent.

The crew had a good level of oversight from Contract Mechanical management, who were regularly in touch to ensure the crew and client were well supported.

I look forward to the next opportunity to engage their services again.”
